Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) is a condition characterized by chronic and in some cases, severe pain. It is associated with trigger points, which are localized and sometimes extremely painful contractures ("knots") found in any skeletal muscle of the body. The symptoms include referred pain through Myofascial trigger points to other areas of the body.
